Our comprehensive service includes everything you need to make an informed decision about your property.
We capture detailed images across ridges, hips and field areas to identify cracked or slipped tiles, rusting or lifting metal sheets, and surface deterioration that can lead to water entry on 2 storey homes.
We focus on the junctions where roof planes meet. In Ormond’s older tiled roofs, failed mortar pointing, loose capping or debris-packed valleys are common leak starters, especially after wind and heavy rain.
The drone allows us to look into gutters and key runoff points for leaf build-up, ponding, corrosion and sagging sections. We also check visible downpipe outlets to spot overflow risk before ceilings show staining.
We inspect visible flashings at chimneys, skylights, vent pipes and abutments for lifting, gaps and deteriorated seal points. These areas move and age differently to the roof covering and often fail first.
Many newer 2 storey townhouses use box gutters or low-slope sections. We photograph these for debris accumulation, ponding indicators and overflow pathways that can affect eaves, fascias and internal walls.
We provide a curated set of images highlighting observed issues and where they sit on the roof. This makes it easier to brief a roofer, compare quotes, or understand what’s urgent versus monitor-worthy.

We use a drone to photograph and review accessible roof surfaces, including tiles or metal sheeting, ridges and capping, valleys, visible flashings, gutters and key drainage points. For Ormond’s double-storey homes and townhouses, this is especially helpful for complex rooflines and areas blocked by neighbouring buildings. We then provide images with notes on observed defects and recommended next steps.
Yes. Ormond has many mature trees, and leaf litter commonly builds up in gutters, valleys and at downpipe outlets. With aerial views, we can often see debris accumulation, ponding water marks, corrosion or sagging sections that suggest poor fall. While we can’t confirm internal blockages without physical testing, the drone images are an excellent way to identify where cleaning or repairs are most likely needed.
It can be a very good fit. Many newer townhouses use box gutters and concealed drainage that are hard to view from the ground. The drone allows us to capture the box gutter areas we can safely see, look for debris build-up, signs of ponding and likely overflow paths, and document flashing details around parapets and penetrations. If we see risk indicators, we’ll recommend the right type of follow-up inspection.
Not usually. Ormond blocks often have tight side setbacks and limited access, which is exactly where drone inspections help. We typically just need a safe take-off and landing area such as a front yard, driveway, or a clear section of the backyard. We’ll also check nearby obstacles like trees and powerlines, and confirm conditions on the day to ensure a safe, compliant flight.
A drone assessment is excellent for identifying visible defects and high-risk areas, but it isn’t a guaranteed leak detection test. Some problems sit under tiles, within sarking, behind flashings, or inside box gutter linings where they aren’t visible externally. If we see symptoms that suggest concealed issues, we’ll clearly note that and recommend the appropriate next step, such as a roofer investigation or internal moisture checks.
