Clyde North’s newer estates often have high-demand circuits for ducted heating/cooling, EV chargers and solar-ready switchboards—small visual faults like loose terminations, missing safety switch labels or heat-stressed cabling can become expensive (and unsafe) fast.

Our comprehensive service includes everything you need to make an informed decision about your property.
We visually assess the switchboard for heat discolouration, corrosion, exposed openings, missing blanks, loose or untidy cabling, and whether circuits and safety switches are clearly labelled. Clear labelling helps you isolate faults safely and supports basic compliance expectations in day-to-day use.
We identify whether safety switches appear to be installed and note if key areas are likely covered, such as power and lighting circuits, wet areas and outdoor circuits. While we don’t test electrically, confirming visible RCD protection helps reduce shock risk and highlights where an electrician may need to confirm coverage.
We look for damaged insulation, unsupported cables, improvised joins, or wiring that appears heat-stressed in accessible roof space and other visible runs. These issues can occur after NBN/antenna installs, HVAC work, or storage activity and may indicate a need for urgent electrician attention.
We check a selection of accessible switches and power points for cracking, scorch marks, loose faceplates, and signs of overheating or arcing. Heat indicators around outlets can point to loose connections or overloaded use—common where multiple chargers, heaters, or entertainment units are plugged in.
We visually confirm the presence and general condition of smoke alarms and note obvious placement concerns (for example, missing alarms in key hallway/bedroom areas in multi-level homes). We’ll flag where alarms look aged, damaged, or poorly positioned so you can follow up for compliance.
We inspect readily accessible external points like outdoor power outlets, patio lighting, and wet-area fittings for weather damage, missing covers, water ingress staining, or unsuitable fittings. Clyde North homes with alfresco areas and garden lighting can be more exposed to moisture and UV-related deterioration.

Yes. Even in newer Clyde North builds, visible issues can show up after handover—especially once appliances, home offices, and extra tech are installed. We look for switchboard heat indicators, visible wiring damage in accessible areas, and signs of poor-quality add-ons (like poorly run cabling for NBN, security cameras or garden lighting). Any concerns are documented so you can book targeted electrician repairs.
Visual only means we don’t dismantle the switchboard, remove covers, or perform electrical testing. We assess what can be safely seen: the switchboard exterior and visible components, accessible wiring condition, outlets and fittings, and obvious safety concerns. If we spot signs of overheating, damage, or likely non-compliance, we recommend follow-up by a licensed electrician for testing and rectification.
We visually check for the presence and general condition of safety switches (RCDs) at the switchboard and note likely coverage based on what’s visible and labelled. We also visually confirm smoke alarms are present and flag obvious placement or condition issues. We don’t perform electrical testing of RCD trip functions or smoke alarm operation, but we’ll advise what to ask an electrician to verify.
In Clyde North, alfresco areas and garages often have extra outlets, downlights, and exterior fittings that are exposed to moisture, dust and temperature swings. We look for weather-damaged covers, staining that suggests water ingress, and fittings that appear unsuitable for outdoor use. In garages, we also note signs of DIY additions for tools, fridges, or EV charging that may overload circuits or show unsafe cabling.
A visual inspection can highlight visible compliance concerns, but it’s not a formal electrical compliance certification. We document hazards and indicators that a licensed electrician should investigate, such as switchboard issues, missing RCD labelling, or damaged cabling. If you need compliance sign-off, we’ll recommend engaging a licensed electrician to test circuits, verify RCD protection, and certify any required works.
