Our comprehensive service includes everything you need to make an informed decision about your property.
We visually assess the switchboard area for signs of overheating, scorching, corrosion, water staining, missing blanks, damaged enclosures and general condition. In Windsor homes that have been renovated over time, a switchboard can show clear clues that loads have increased without appropriate upgrades.
We check whether safety switches are visibly present and note how they appear to be configured. We also flag situations where coverage may be limited (for example, older-style boards or mixed additions). We don’t test trip times, but we identify where a licensed electrician should verify protection.
We inspect accessible cabling for obvious damage, unsupported runs, exposed conductors, taped joints, non-weatherproof connections and other signs of unsafe alterations. This is particularly relevant in Windsor properties with extensions, outdoor entertaining areas or garage conversions where cabling may have been added later.
We visually check a selection of accessible outlets and fittings for cracking, heat damage, loose faceplates, poor alignment, and signs of moisture impact. We also note obvious incompatibilities, such as fittings in wet areas that appear unsuitable for their location.
We note the presence of smoke alarms and any obvious concerns such as missing units, damage, or unsuitable placement that stands out during the inspection. We’re not certifying compliance or testing every unit, but we highlight clear issues and recommend appropriate follow-up.
Because this is a visual-only inspection, we clearly separate what we observed from what requires testing—such as RCD trip verification, circuit loading, earthing integrity and hidden wiring. You receive actionable recommendations so you can brief a licensed electrician efficiently.

Many Windsor character homes have had multiple renovations over decades, and the electrical system can reflect that. It’s not unusual to see a newer kitchen or air-conditioning added while the switchboard remains older or only partly upgraded. Our electrical visual inspection looks for visible switchboard red flags and safety switch presence, then advises what a licensed electrician should test and upgrade.
This service is a visual-only assessment. We don’t remove switchboard covers, test circuits, measure earthing, or certify compliance. Instead, we identify visible defects, safety concerns and indicators that professional electrical testing is required. If we see issues that suggest urgent risk—such as heat damage, exposed wiring or water impact—we’ll recommend prompt attention by a licensed electrician.
We inspect areas that are safely and reasonably accessible at the time, such as the switchboard location, visible cabling in garages or undercroft areas (where access is safe), and accessible power points and fittings. We can’t inspect wiring hidden inside walls or ceilings without invasive work. If access is restricted by stored items, locked areas or tenant belongings, we note limitations in the findings.
Yes. In Windsor apartment blocks, electrical responsibility is often split between your lot and common property managed by the owners corporation. We visually assess what’s accessible within the apartment and note obvious issues at your switchboard or fittings. We generally can’t assess common property electrical rooms or building-wide systems without permission. If concerns arise, we’ll recommend asking strata for recent electrical maintenance records and arranging an electrician review.
We can visually identify whether safety switches appear to be installed and how the switchboard is arranged, but we can’t confirm protection on every circuit without electrical testing. Modern appliance loads—such as induction cooktops, split systems and home office setups—can highlight older configurations. If the board looks dated or additions are evident, we’ll recommend an electrician to confirm RCD coverage, circuit capacity and any required upgrades.
