Stage 1 – Pre-Slab (Base Stage) Inspection in Port Melbourne

A pre-slab inspection ensures that your builder’s groundwork, formwork, and reinforcement are up to standard before concrete is poured. Identifying issues at this stage prevents costly structural problems and rectifications later on, protecting your investment right from the start.

The inspector examines site preparation, formwork accuracy, steel reinforcement placement, vapour barrier installation, and compliance with your plans and Australian Standards. Any defects or deviations are documented in a detailed report with recommendations for rectification.

You are not required to attend the inspection, but you are welcome to do so if you wish. Our inspectors will provide a comprehensive written report with photos, so you’re fully informed about any issues and the next steps, regardless of your attendance.

We understand the importance of timely feedback during construction. You’ll typically receive your detailed inspection report, complete with photos and recommendations, within 24 hours of the inspection, allowing your builder to address any concerns promptly.

If defects or non-compliance issues are identified, our report will clearly outline them with supporting evidence. You can present this report to your builder, who must rectify the issues before proceeding. We’re available to offer further advice or re-inspect if needed.
